EPHESUS, the worlds famous archeological site and probably the best preserved Classical city in Europe. Temple of Artemis (Diana), which is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world located by Ephesus and is a must to see before you leave Turkey.

Starting from 1869, the excavations have brought out the amazing ancient city, Ephesus. In 2015 Ephesus ancient city was added in the UNESCO World Heritage List, which attracts every year 3 million visitors from all around the world. Although the excavations and restorations still continue, there is a marvelous city covering nearly 1600 hectares in Selcuk town.

WHERE IS EPHESUS?

The House of the Virgin Mary is a place where, according to the beliefs of many people Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent the last years of her life. She was supposed to arrive at Ephesus together with St. John and lived there in the years 37-45 CE until her Assumption (according to Catholic doctrine) or Dormition.(according to Orthodox belief)

Ephesus is located near the Western shores of Turkey, about 80 kilometers south of Izmir and 172 km away from Bodrum. If you are flying back home later than 18:00h., It is possible for us to organize a day trip to Ephesus on your departure day. At the end of the tour we can bring you to either Izmir or Bodrum airport to travel back home.
